writing about Muhammad, the prophet of Islam, the Orientalist scholar W Montgomery Watt wrote: "Of all the world's great men, none has been so much maligned as
Muhammad

What the records are clear on is that Muhammad and Aisha had a loving and egalitarian relationship, which set the standard for reciprocity, tenderness and respect enjoined by the Qur'an. Insights into their relationship, such as the fact they liked to drink out of the same cup or race one another, are indicative of a deep connection which belies any misrepresentation of their relationship.

Prophet Muhammad's (صلى الله عليه و سلم) enemies hurled many insults at him such as calling him a:
➳ Madman —(Quran 68:51)
➳ Soothsayer —(Quran 52:29, 69:38-42
➳ Forger —(Quran 25:5, 21:5)
➳ Liar —(Quran 16:101)
➳ Sorcerer —(Quran 38:4)
➳ Possessed —(Quran 68:51)
➳ Poet —(Quran 21:5)

But not once was his marriage criticized. Repeat: Not once.
Did they happen to forget to add this as part of their insults list?

ღ: Marriage of Aisha & Prophet Muhammad

Aisha's parents were the ones who married her to our Prophet, and that no Muslim or even pagan objected to the marriage because it was widely practiced.*

The general character of the Prophet, and his marital history, speak clearly against the notion that he was other than upright. His first marriage, at age 25, was to a widowed woman (Khadijah) who was 15 years his senior, and he remained in a happy and solid monogamous marriage to her for a quarter-century (twenty-five years), the marriage ending only with Khadijah’s death, aged 65. If we are extrapolating general lessons from the Prophet’s life, then his marriage to Khadijah is far more relevant for paradigmatic value. It was only subsequent to that, and often under specific circumstances (as others have discussed) that he married other women, and all of them (other than `A’ishah) were either widows or divorcees. Some historical sources even record that one of the strategies his antagonists tried, to dissuade him from his preaching, was to offer him whatever wealth or wives he desired, but he refused this initiative.

Hence, without necessarily putting the three possibilities *(regarding `A’ishah’s age)9-10?/ 14-15 ? / 18-19 ? on equal footing, and without stifling those who wish to delve deeper into the scholarly (and sometimes non-scholarly) arguments on either side, it is sufficient for the Muslim to defer the issue to God, saying, “I believe whichever of the three is the truth before God.” There are many more useful and pressing issues for us to occupy ourselves with.

Prophet’s marriage to `Aisha, the Mother of the Faithful, has always been a subject of attack and criticism by the enemies of Islam. First of all, we want to clarify to people who view this marriage as some sort of brutal act and child abuse that they should try to understand the main purpose of this marriage and the condition of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, before the marriage.
As for the purpose of this marriage, it was purely for sociopolitical reason. The Prophet’s main concern was the future of Islam. He was interested in strengthening the Muslims by all bonds. This also explains the reason why he married the daughter of `Umar, his Second Successor. It was by his marriage to Juwayriyyah that he gained the support for Islam of the whole clan of Bani Al-Mustaliq and their allied tribes. It was through his marriage to Safiyyah that he neutralized a great section of the hostile Jews of Arabia. By accepting Mariya, the Copt from Egypt, as his wife, he formed a political alliance with a king of great magnitude. So his marriage to `Aisha could never be of anything save cementing his relation with Abu Bakr, `Aisha’s father

As for the Prophet’s condition before this marriage, it clearly explained what we’ve said that it was a purely sublime aim and purpose that motivated him to marry `Aisha. That’s why the marriage was not consummated until sometime after the emigration to Madinah, when she had reached maturity. The motives of this marriage can be understood to be anything except passion and physical attraction. However, he lived with her, in addition to Sawdah, for five to six years, when he was 56 years of age, without taking any other wife.
One important point we have to clarify here is that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, when proposing to `Aisha, was not the first suitor, for, according to many historians, Jubair ibn Mut`am proposed to her before the Prophet, peace and blessings for him. This gives an indication that `Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, was mature enough for marriage at that age
One must first understand that 1400 years ago was very different than now, times have changed and so have humans. 1400 years ago it was something very common to marry young girls, in fact they were not considered young girls, and rather they were considered young women back then. It is a historic fact that girls from the ages of 9 to 14 were being married in Europe, Asia, and Africa, in fact even in the United States girls at the age of 10 were also being married just more than a century ago.
Yet with these facts no historian claims that all these people were sick perverts, historians would call anyone who made such a claim to be arrogant and very stupid who has no grasp or understanding of history.

Even in Indo-Pak Sub-Continent girls used to be married at 12-13 even 50-60 years ago. And those ‘girls’ infact raised much better families. There were less family problems then. A simple analyses of the divorce rate then and know would certainly make it clear that maturity level earlier used to be different i.e. people used to come of age rather quickly
Another striking thing to observe is that among hundreds of her narrations there is not even a single one showing her displeasure about this marriage*. Hence, she had no problem with this relation. Infect it is manifest from several traditions that she loved the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) too much and even felt some sort of jealousy when she found others around him. Does this not prove that she was extremely happy about this marriage? So, when she herself had no problem at all then what’s the matter of concern for others?*
Sayyidah Aisha’s mother and the Muslim women back then were O.K with her marriage. It was part of the Arab custom and still is in many of the Muslim and non-Muslim countries today for girls to marry at a very young age. When a girl’s body starts showing up (her breasts and her height and physical size), then she would be ready for marriage
The only reason why Sayyidah Aisha’s father, Abu Baker Al Sidique, broke her engagement with Jober is because he was a non-Muslim. Later, a woman named Kholeah Bint Hakeem suggested for Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him to marry Sayyidah Aisha, because the Prophet and Abu Baker became best friends. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) engaged Sayyidah Aisha for 3 years before he married her.( by islam greatreligion.com)
.On a side note In addition to all demographic, political and socio-cultural evidence that proves this as a normal marriage, for those who are ''still'' not convinced there is also significant evidence of girls age of hitting puberty quicker in hot climate, in a time where Air Conditioning did not exist we can conclude that this was even more evident through these researches.

I came across different scientific publications that appear to confirm children, particularly girls, reach puberty quicker in hot climates.(by ummah )

Although puberty usually starts between ages 8 to 13 in girls, it may start earlier or later. Everyone's body changes at a different time. Whether you have breasts at age 10 or have not started your period by age 14, do not worry. Everyone goes through puberty eventually. (http://www.healthtouch.com/bin/EContent_HT/cnoteShowLfts.asp? fname=07103&title=PUBERTY+IN+GIRLS+&cid=HTHLTH)

Age of puberty varies however in woman it is generally reached earlier. "The average temperature of the country or province," say the well-known authors of the book Woman (Herman H. Ploss, Max Bartels and Paul Bartels, Woman, Volume I, Lord & Bransby, 1988, page 563., http://www.biblioz.com/lp25762280577.html), "is considered the chief factor here, not only with regard to menstruation but as regards the whole of sexual development at puberty."  http://www.livescience.com/1824- truth-early-puberty.html

1400 years ago it was not abnormal to marry a girl or boy as soon as they hit puberty, not like they had to go to college get a degree and find a job or live together before marriage. It was a normal marriage and we don’t have any problems at all. Also it’s a secondary data reference (not words of God or prophet which in nature might not be perfect) so many scholars differ from her age being 9 to 18 years but neither would bother a Muslim. Wait until I show you some Bible prophets and their bride’s marriage ages :) read the whole post please.
Average age of death was at that time was 40-60
- By 20-30 people were considered old
- Definition of child: a young human being below the age of puberty or below the legal age of majority.
- Median of the marriage age increased only recently after socialism and westernization was established, look at the charts of the changing marriage age around the world. Even Gandhi married at 12
- Child brides as young as 8 were common, not exceptions, among the Byzantine emperors and nobility.
- The minimum age for marriage in the US-State of Delaware in year 1895 was 7. Yes, SEVEN .
- Virgin Mary was as young as 11 when she got pregnant with Jesus Christ, peace be upon both of them.

in centuries past, people were considered ready for marriage when they reached puberty.

5 Facts About Aisha And Muhammed's Marriage – Discover The Truth

>>>

"Did Muhammad pbuh have sex with Aisha ra when she was nine years old?". And the answer to that is as far as we can ascertain, a big endless question mark. We simply don't know.***
The sources on Aisha is the Hadith, which are texts collected about Muhammad pbuh after his death. although they are not words by God or a prophet, but they are generally seen to be quite trustworthy because we Muslims respect the companions of our prophet, but they are at best second-hand accounts.

These sources agree on that Muhammad pbuh and Aisha ra was engaged when she was 6 years old. But they can be separated according to who is the original source. Many of them attribute themselves to Aisha herself. She consistently says that she moved into Muhammad's household at the age of 9. No quote attributed to her says that the marriage was consummated at that (or any other) time.

Other quotes do say that it was consummated when she was nine. But the question then is how they know? Reasonably only Muhammad pbuh and Aisha ra knew. And the question also arises to what "consummated" means. In western tradition the marriage is consummated when you have intercourse. I can't find any source that says what word is used in the Arabic originals, so I don't know if the implications are the same.( by ummah)***

Prophet Muhammad's marriage with Aisha - Answering Christianity

Why Prophet Muhammad Married Aisha

Oxford Study Sheds Light on Muhammad's 'Underage' Wife ...

“A great misconception prevails as to the age at which Aisha was taken in marriage by the Prophet. Ibn Sa‘d has stated in the Tabaqat that when Abu Bakr [father of Aisha] was approached on behalf of the Holy Prophet, he replied that the girl had already been betrothed to Jubair, and that he would have to settle the matter first with him. This shows that Aisha must have been approaching majority at the time. Again, the Isaba, speaking of the Prophet’s daughter Fatima, says that she was born five years before the Call and was about five years older than Aisha. This shows that Aisha must have been about ten years at the time of her betrothal to the Prophet, and not six years as she is generally supposed to be. This is further borne out by the fact that Aisha herself is reported to have stated that when the chapter [of the Holy Quran] entitled The Moon, the fifty-fourth chapter, was revealed, she was a girl playing about and remembered certain verses then revealed. Now the fifty-fourth chapter was undoubtedly revealed before the sixth year of the Call. All these considerations point to but one conclusion, viz., that Aisha could not have been less than ten years of age at the time of her nikah, which was virtually only a betrothal. And there is one report in the Tabaqat that Aisha was nine years of age at the time of nikah. Again it is a fact admitted on all hands that the nikah of Aisha took place in the tenth year of the Call in the month of Shawwal, while there is also preponderance of evidence as to the consummation of her marriage taking place in the second year of Hijra in the same month, which shows that full five years had elapsed between the nikah and the consummation. Hence there is not the least doubt that Aisha was at least nine or ten years of age at the time of betrothal, and fourteen or fifteen years at the time of marriage.”by Maulana Muhammad Ali

  • Conclusion 1: With respect to (a) and (b) you can calculate the year which Aisha was born in. It was 17 before the Hijrat. That is, Ayesha was 4 or 5 at the first year after Bi'that.
According to Ibn Hisham, the historian, Ayesha (ra) accepted Islam quite some time before Umar ibn Khattab (ra). This shows that Ayesha (ra) accepted Islam during the first year of Islam.

Tabari has also reported that at the time Abu Bakr planned on migrating to Habshah (8 years before Hijrah), he went to Mut`am -- with whose son Ayesha (ra) was engaged -- and asked him to take Ayesha (ra) in his house as his son's wife. Mut`am refused, because Abu Bakr had embraced Islam, and subsequently his son divorced Ayesha (ra). Now, if Ayesha (ra) was only seven years old at the time of her marriage, she could not have been born at the time Abu Bakr decided on migrating to Habshah. On the basis of this report it seems only reasonable to assume that Ayesha (ra) had not only been born 8 years before hijrah, but was also a young lady, quite prepared for marriage.

According to Ibn Hajar, “Fatima was born at the time the Ka`bah was rebuilt, when the Prophet was 35 years old... she was five years older that Ayesha” (Al-isabah fi tamyizi’l-sahabah, Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani, Vol. 4, p. 377, Maktabatu’l-Riyadh al-haditha, al-Riyadh, 1978).

If Ibn Hajar’s statement is factual, Ayesha was born when the Prophet was 40 years old. If Ayesha was married to the Prophet when he was 52 years old, Ayesha’s age at marriage would be 15 years.

First point:
There is only one hadith by Hisham which suggests the age of Hazrat Aisha as being nine when she came to live with her husband......His life is divided into two periods: in 131A.H. the Madani period ended, and the Iraqi period started, when Hisham was 71 years old. Hafiz Zehbi has spoken about Hisham’s loss of memory in his later period.........All the narrators of this hadith are Iraqis who had heard it from Hisham. Allama Kandhulvi says that the words spoken in connection with Hazrat Aisha’s age were tissa ashara, meaning 19, when Hisham only heard (or remembered), tissa, meaning nine. Maulana Usmani thinks this change was purposely and maliciously made later.
Second Point writer has:
Historian Ibn Ishaq in his Sirat Rasul Allah has given a list of the people who accepted Islam in the first year of the proclamation of Islam, in which Hazrat Aisha’s name is mentioned as Abu Bakr’s “little daughter Aisha”. If we accept Hisham’s calculations, she was not even born at that time.
Third Point:
Some time after the death of the Prophet’s first wife, Hazrat Khadija, Khawla suggested to the Prophet that he get married again, to a bikrun, referring to Hazrat Aisha (Musnad Ahmed). In Arabic bikrun is used for an unmarried girl who has crossed the age of puberty and is of marriageable age. The word cannot be used for a six-year-old girl.
Fourth One:
There is consensus that Hazrat Aisha was 10 years younger than her elder sister Asma, whose age at the time of the hijrah, or migration to Madina, was about 28. It can be concluded that Hazrat Aisha was about 18 years old at migration. On her moving to the Prophet’s house, she was a young woman at 21.

A chronological documentation of major events in A’isha’s life is as follows:
  • A’isha was born before Islam was revealed in 610, and accepted Islam shortly after it was revealed.
  • The Hijra occurred in 622
  • A’isha’s older sister (of 10 years), Asmaa, was 27 at the time of Hijra, making A’isha 17 at the time of Hijra.
  • A’isha was betrothed to the Prophet two years after the death of Khadijah, or a year before the Hijrah.
  • A’isha moved in with the Prophet a year or two after the Hijrah, or two to four years after her betrothal. (Various reports are unclear, but all agree as to the general time frame.)
  • A’isha was involved in the battles of Badr (624) and Uhud (625), in neither of which was anyone under the age of 15 allowed.
  • A’isha was widowed in 633
  • A’isha died in 672 at the age of 67. (We know that her older sister, Asmaa, died at the age of 100 in the year 695, which means she was 77 at the time of A’isha’s death.
>>
  • So again, based on the timeline above, we can conclude that A’isha was 16 at the time of her engagement to the Prophet [pbuh], and 19 when she married and moved in with him.
  • >>

  •  where did this hadith come from and why has it become so widely accepted? Here are some more uncontested facts:
  • All of the reports that say that A’isha was 6 at the time of her engagement, and 9 at the time of her marriage, come from Iraq.
  • Most of these reports come from Asmaa’s grandson, Hisham bin ‘Urwa (born in 683).
  • None of the reports come from Mecca or Medina, where Hisham bin ‘Urwa spent the first 70 years of his life.
  • Hisham spent the last 15 years of his life in Iraq, where all of the reports come from.
  • It is reported that as he became older, Hisham’s memory suffered quite badly.

When we look at this information, we learn some very interesting facts. Hisham bin ‘Urwa (who was born after A’isha died) spent the majority of his life in Madina, and yet no one else from Madina ever confirmed his reports about A’isha’s age at the time of her marriage.

Most of the narratives concerning this issue printed in the books of Hadith are reported by one Hisham ibn Urwah. (A single source for ALL - Ideally, the Muslims look for two, three or four sources for reliable narrations)

AYESHA AGE THE MYTH OF A PROVERBIAL WEDDING EXPOSED

Aisha's Age - Discovering Islam

Almost every report of Ayesha's young age goes back to Hisham bin Urwa from the time when he was old and possibly senile. Secondly, even his old pupils, like Malik ibn Anas rejected his narration of that period. Likewise in the 15th century many scholars rejected the narrations of Hisham from his old age.
Al-Tabari says, "All four of Abu Bakr's children were born of his two wives during the Pre-Islamic period" (Tarikh'l umam wa'l-mamlu'k, Al Tabari (died 922), Vol 4, p.50, Arabic Dara'l-fikr, Beirut, 1979)
Tabari also states that Ayesha was born in the period of Jahiliya (Pre-Islamic period) (In other words in 610 CE or earlier) Even if she was born in 610, she would be 14 years old when she began living with the Prophet Amazingly, Tabari in a different place then goes and quotes Hisham ibn Urwah that Ayesha was nine when she started living with the Prophet!!! (Not a very scholarly work, is it?

There are multiple accounts of Ayesha participating in the battles of Badr and Uhad. At the same time, Bukhari (in Kitabul Maghazi, Bab Ghazwa-i-Khandaq)narrates, "Ibn-i-Umar states that the Prophet did not allow me to participate in Uhad because at the time I was 14 years old. But on the day of Khandaq (next battle), when I was 15, the Prophet allowed me to participate.
Ayesha's participation in battles of Badr and Uhad clearly indicates that she was not 9 year old, but at least 15.  Dr. Shanavas adds, "Women used to accompany men to the battlefield to help them, not to be a burden on them."
Sura Qamar: Ayesha is reported to have said that she was a young girl (jariyah in Arabic) when sura Qamar was revealed. Sura Qamar was revealed eight years before Hijra, in 614 CE. If Ayesha started living with the Prophet at age 9 in 623 CE, she should have been a new born (sibyah in Arabic) when Sura Qamar was revealed, not a jariyah (a young girl). assumed to be somewhere between 6-13 year old.  That would suggest Ayesha's age at the time of marriage to be 14-21 years

Guidance from Qur'an: There are no verses that spell out age of marriage in number 0f years, which is understandable because both boys and girls reach maturity at widely different ages. But Qur'an 4:5-6 talking about orphaned children who are now under the protection of guardian says "..... and maintain them out of it (the orphan's property), clothe them and give them good education. And test them until they reach the age of marriage. Then if you find in them maturity of intellect, make over them their property."
Dr. Shanavas says: In the matter of children who lost a parent, a Muslim (guardian) is ordered to 1. feed them, 2. clothe them, 3.educate them, and 4. test them for maturity "until the age of marriage" before entrusting them with the management of finances. Here the Qur'anic verse demands meticulous proof of their intellectual and  physical maturity*** by objective test results before the age of marriage in order to entrust their property to them,  In the light of this verse no responsible Muslim would hand over financial management to a seven or nine year old girl. ...... hence she cannot be intellectually or physically fit for marriage.
Finally, a woman (not her daddy or mommy) must be consulted and must agree in order to make the marriage valid.  Dr. Shanavas says: By any stretch of the imagination, the permission given by an immature seven year old girl cannot be valid authorization for marriage.

there was a king of england that married a 12 year old and another king of england that married a 6 year old

european monarchs would have childbrides as young as 6

saint augustine an early church father married a 10 year old

mary mother of jesus married 80/90 year old joseph at 11

ill get back to aisha later , but this was the norm in the middle ages , so u cannot accuse anyone of anything including mohammed , so if u accuse mohammed of stuff because of his marriage with aisha , accuse all these people i mentioned including joseph husband of mary mother of jesus .

i studied her age , my goal was not to rely on the hadith because the hadith was collected 200 years after mohamed so even if u have most authentic hadith books it will still have some mistakes .

here is the study :

aisha fought in the battles in 624 and 625 and mahmed never allowed people below 15 to fight .

before islam aisha was engaged to jubayr ibn mutim and when jubayrs father heard of abu bakrs conversion to islam he no longer wished his son to marry aisha . and abu bakr converted to islam in 610 , if aisha was 6 in 621 at her wedding she would be born in 615 , but before 610 she was engaged to someone else before she and her father converted to islam , so it is impossible for her to be 6 at her wedding in 621 because she was engaged to someone else before 610 , so this means aisha was born before 610 , if aisha was born in 609 , she would have been 12 at her wedding and 15 at consumnation . ok so now we know she was atleast 15 .

there is another hadith that aisha remembered abu bakr attempting migration to ethiopia and the migration to ehtiopia happened in 615 , so if aisha was 6 in 621 at her marriage she would have been born in 615 and she would have been atleast months old or in her mothers womb to remember it which is impossible because a months old baby has no awarness , so this is another proof she was older , to remember and understand the reason for migration to ethiopia she needed to be atleast 7 or 8 . so 615 - 7 = 608 , so if aisha was born in 608 she would have been 13 at her engagement in 621 and 16 at consummation in 624 .

calculating her age ,

most muslim historians agree that aisha sister asma is 10 years older and asma was born in 595 . so 595 + 10 is 605 .

most muslim authorities and historians agree that aisha died in 672 at the age of 67 , if u do 672 - 67 u get 605 .

calculate it in another way - aisha was 67 in 672 she died after being a widow for 40 years , so if u do 672 - 40 = 632 , mahmed died in 632 , 40 years before aisha died in 672 at 67 , do 67 - 40 = 27 , so aisha was 27 when mahmed died , so 632 - 27 = 605 .

so aisha was born in 605 means in 621 at her engagement she was 16 and at 624 she was 19 at her marriage .

the hadith that she was 9 comes from her grandnephew the grandson of her sister hisham bin urwah , but hisham bin urwah was fucked because he was 70 years old and had memory problem and he was still working around , hisham bin urwah said aisha died at age 67 in 672 , and most muslim historians and authorites agree she died at age 67 in 672 , 672 - 67 = 605 and using her sisters age we found out she was born in 605 , so hisham bin urwah confused 16 and 19 with 6 and 9 .

so aisha was born in 605 . and got engaged to mohammed in 621 at 16 and married mohammed in 624 at 19 . using historical evidence we found out that all the hadiths that say she was 6/9 are false fabricated and weak .

so aisha actual age is 16 to 19 , even if she was 9 u cannot accuse mohamed of anything because it was the norm at that time but according to historical evidence she was 16–19 .

a timeline of aisha -

born in 605

engaged to jubayr ibn mutim after 605islam starts in 610 , aisha converts at the age of 5 and jubayrs father no longer wishes jubayr to marry aisha because aisha and her family converted to islam .

abu bakr attempts to migrate to ethiopia in 615 when aisha was 10 years old .

aisha engaged to muhamad in 621 when she was 16 ,

aisha migrates to medina in 622 when she was 17

aisha marries muhammad in 624 when she was 19

muhammad dies when aisha was 27 in 632.

aisha dies at 67 in 672 .

do not trust these hadiths 100% because they were collected 200 years after mohameds death , even if u have most authentic collection it will have some mistakes by little historian

Turkish theologian and former Head of Religious Affairs, Süleyman Ateş, says the following about Aisha's age at marriage:[18]
“According to historians and bibliographers, Aisha is five years younger than the Prophet's daughter, Fatima. Fatima was born 5 years before prophethood. So, Aisha was born in the year of the beginning of prophecy. The Prophet Muhammad stayed in Mecca for 13 years after he became a prophet. Aisha must have been 13 years old when the Prophet migrated. Since the Prophet married Aisha two years after he migrated to Medina, it means that Aisha was at least 15 years old when she got married. In addition, Aisha was engaged or verbally engaged to Jubayr ibn Mut'im before she got engaged to the Prophet. Doesn't this show that she was old enough to marry before she was betrothed to the Prophet? This age is probably not nine years old. This means that Aisha was at least 15 years old when the Prophet wanted her to get married.
The Prophet did not directly ask for Aisha; His aunt recommended him to the Prophet, and he found it appropriate. According to another rumor, Aisha is the same age as Fatima, the daughter of the Prophet. At the time of Fatima's birth, her father was 35 years old. In this case, Aisha was 20 years old when she got married.
Theologians Ahmet Tekin and Mustafa İslamoğlu say that these numbers should be understood as 16 and 19, referring to the counting format of numbers after 10 in Arabic."When we look at Lisan-ul Arap, it is stated that when the numbers from 11 to 19 are used in Arabic, if the digit "ones" is used, it should be understood that the "tens" digit is also meant. (...) Aisha, the most literal speaker of Arabic It should be understood that by using this feature in Arabic, she means with  6 and 9 years old, 16 and 19 years old.( if this rumor is authentic Hisham bin Urwah is the main narrator of the hadith ? which says Hazrat Aisha was 9 when her Nikak was performed. Hisham's life is divided into two periods: in 131 A.H. the Madani period ended, and the Iraqi period started, when Hisham was 71 years old. Hafiz Zehbi has spoken about Hisham’s loss of memory in his later period. His students in Madina, Imam Malik and Imam Abu Hanifah, do not mention this hadith. Imam Malik and the people of Madina criticised him for his Iraqi hadiths. All the narrators of this hadith are Iraqis who had heard it from Hisham. Allama Kandhulvi says that the words spoken in connection with Hazrat Aisha’s age were tissa ashara meaning 19, when Hisham only heard (or remembered), tissa, meaning nine. Maulana Usmani thinks this change was purposely and maliciously made later. )

Arabs were known for their girls' age after menstruation. (See. Musa Carullah /,Musa Bigiev Hatun, 81, Kitabiyat Yay. Trc. Mehmey Gormez) Accordingly, it is necessary to evaluate the information in the narrations from this perspective. Also, St. There is also information showing that Aisha got married when she was 18-19 years old. Also, in Arabia, girls' ages were counted from the time they reached puberty. For example, a girl who reached puberty in the ninth year of her birth was considered zero years old. according to this calculation, if this girl got married at the age of nine, her body age would have been 18.
for this reason, Aisha's marriage at the age of nine corresponds to the age limit of 18-19 in our society. Priest Louis Ma'luf, one of the Christian clergy, in his Dictionary named "El Müncid Fi'l Lügati'l ve'l Ulumu", Hz. He states that Aisha was born in 603, married in 623, and died in 696. Compared to other sources, the date of death in Ma'luf's Dictionary is given as 696, which is a later date. Ma'luf "Mr. Aisha, Hz. She was engaged to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in Mecca, 6 months after the Hijra. She states that she was 20 years old when she married the Prophet (pbuh). The feature of the period mentioned in the Hijaz region in the dictionary is "In the Arab tradition, the age of girls was counted after they became sane /age of consent is also considered to be between 11 and 13 years old.”
Therefore, Hz. The narration that Aisha got married at a young age can be explained as follows: If it is accepted that Aisha was sane at the age of 11-12-13,
11 years + allegedly married 9 years = 20 real age at marriage When the classical and modern sources of Islamic history are examined comparatively,  There are two different views on whether  Aisha got married at a young age. It will not be right to defend or react to one of two different groups on the subject.
However, it is useful to evaluate a marriage that has been 14 centuries old by considering the tradition, culture and social characteristics of the period.***
